Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Corporate Director will oversee the provision of high-quality Adult Social Care & All Age Commissioning services and lead the Directorate in its delivery of the Council’s corporate strategy, with a particular focus on supporting the city’s residents to fulfil their potential and supporting vulnerable people in our communities to live their lives well.
We are looking for an ambitious, visionary leader, passionate about improving lives and delivering excellence in adult social care, and can drive forward our commitment to high-quality care, integrated services and positive outcomes for vulnerable adults and older people.
You will need to champion wellbeing for Stoke-on-Trent residents by ensuring that the care needs of vulnerable adults and older people are met through an equitable, timely, and value-for-money approach while working closely with council services and external partners, including voluntary and community sectors, to maximise the impact of prevention and early intervention initiatives.

To be successful in this role you will need to deliver effective and tailored adult safeguarding, grounded in prevention, timely response, and partnership working.
You will be a confident, values-led leader with a strategic mindset and a proven track record in adult social care, health integration, or related fields. You will demonstrate excellent political awareness and collaborative skills, forging strong partnerships across public, voluntary, and private sectors.

You will be an ambassador for the council, promoting our image as a city, supporting the formation of strategic alliances and developing effective working relationships on a local, regional and national basis, including the local voluntary and community sector, social enterprises, the private sector.
